SUPER SAVINGS SATURDAY

So how many of you have watched Exteme Couponing? That show leaves me with mixed feelings. For a girl who loves a good deal, I'm amazed at how much STUFF people get for very little MONEY. But then again, truth be told, there is NO WAY, NO HOW I'm going to spend 50-60 hours a week researching deals for those sorts of results. And let's face it, most people will not be extreme couponers.

Having said that, I would like to share my mini version of extreme couponing I did last night at CVS. "The hubs" isn't super into shopping or couponing but he did agree to go along. I allured him with the fact that he would be getting some quality razors out of the deal as opposed to the cheap-o disposable ones I sometimes try to sneak past him. He humored me and was actually smiling as we left the store. What can I say? He loves a good deal too. And because I was so prepared and he only had to do 2 transactions, we were in and out in a matter of minutes.

Here's what we got.

       - use 2 $0.75 coupons for Colgate (coupon from newspaper)

       - use 1 $1 coupon (coupon from newspaper)

Pay $9.97 out of pocket get $9 ECB's

        - use $4 ECB's from transaction #1

Pay $1.70 out of pocket
Transaction #4

All in all it took me about 15 minutes to research these deals online and print the coupons I needed. The visit to the store probably took 10-15 minutes as well. Not bad, right?

For those who are freaking out that I did 4 transactions all in one go, fear not. I confirmed with the cashier that it was okay. They are used to people doing this all the time. I apologized to the man waiting behind me but he was actually quite impressed with my skillz. The cashier even asked "The Hubs" if he rather do 3 separate transactions instead of 2, to save even more money! He graciously declined.

These sales are still good, so if you want to give it a try, now's your shot. I've lined it all out for you. If you try it, leave a comment below about your experience. I'm sure others could use your encouragement!
Happy Shopping!
